INCLUSION
Age > 40 years
Exercise limited by claudication
Paired baseline PWTs within 20% of each other
Index ABI < 0.8 at rest
Patent femoral inflow
Medically stable for > 4 mos
Informed consent
EXCLUSION
Suspicion of malignancy (screening per ACS guidelines)
Creatinine > 2.0 mg/dL
Urine protein ³ 2+ or
> 300 mg/day
> 300 mg/day
Proliferative retinopathy
